MPI Training @ TACC May 2019

We are pleased to announce the following two MPI training sessions being held on May 6th, 2019:
- Intermediate MPI training 9am – 12pm CT
- Advanced MPI training 1pm – 4pm CT
In our intermediate MPI workshop,we will cover the following aspects of MPI that go beyond basic point-to-point and collectives: – Derived data types – Communicator handling – Process management – MPI I/O The workshop will alternate lectures with lab exercises, which can be done in C/C++/Fortran90/Fortran2008 and Python. Prerequisites: a mastery of basic MPI and use of Unix, including text editors. In our advanced MPI workshop we will cover the following features that were added in MPI-3: – Atomic operations – Shared memory – Non-blocking collectives – Graph topologies and neighborhood collectives The workshop will alternate lectures with lab exercises, which can be done in C/C++/Fortran90/Fortran2008 and Python. Prerequisites: mastery of basic and intermediate MPI and use of Unix, including text editors. These courses will be available to both in-person and remote attendees via webcast.
